On Sunday June 7th, 2009 the Somerville Fire Department came together for their annual Firefighters Memorial Sunday.  Wreaths were placed at the Arrow Paper Fire Memorial and the Somerville Firefighters Memorial at the Lowell Street Fire Station.  The following are photos of this year's service.

There was a great turn-out for the ceremony by current members of the department, retired members, family members and residents.

The National Anthem was sung by Sandi Hammond, girlfriend of Somerville Firefighter Steve Cheimets.

The Somerville Firefighters Memorial was dedicated on June 9th, 1940
